NPSA Guidance on Labelling |

Following an incident where a patient was inadvertantly taking two different brands of diltiazem, Community Pharmacists are reminded of the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) guidance on labelling of medicines. In particular, the label should ideally be placed in the space provided by the manufacturer so as not to obscure other information including the generic name. This guidance can be accessed here. |

 Earlier this month the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society agreed to make it mandatory for all practicing pharmacists and registered technicians to make at least nine CPD records per year from 1st March. |
